Herbert Clears Fordham: was born in 1900 and died in May 1988 aged 88. He was the son of Herbert Clears Fordham (1875-1954) who was the Miller and Rachel Stevens (1874 – 1847) and had 9 brothers and sisters. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered below the tower of St. Mary’s as Herbert spent many years climbing the tower every 7 days to wind the church clock.
