Top Turret Gunner T/Sgt Russell A Stevens

Technical Sergeant Russell A. Stevens was born on the 24 Oct 1921 Oakfield, Aroostook County, Maine.  He was the son of Irvin and Beatrice Stevens, of Cleveland Street, Houlton, Aroostook County, Maine.  Irvin was a “Brakeman” on the railroad. He enlisted in Hartford, Connecticut on 21st September 1942.  Stevens was on his second mission when he died, aged 22 aboard the “Stars and Stripes”.  His previous mission had been with William Morris on “Pistol Packin’ Moma” 42-39925 to Kiel.  He is buried in Section 5, Block 5, Grave 95 at the Evergreen Cemetery  Houlton, Aroostook County, Maine, USA.  He is also mentioned on the headstone of his father Irvin C Stevens (Photo Russell A Stevens_3) 1889-1950 and his mother Beatrice Mason 1891-1960 who are buried in Section 5, Block 5, Grave 95 also in the Evergreen Cemetery.
