Sergeant Stanley Lowitz was born on the 22 Feb 1922 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Abraham and Tillie Lowitz who were both born in the Russia and who lived in Neck Road, Brooklyn. Abraham and Tillie both worked as clerks in a confectionary shop. In 1940, Stanley was working as a shipping clerk for a silverware company. He enlisted in Brooklyn on 16th October 1942. When he died aboard the “Stars and Stripes”, it just before his 22nd birthday. It was also his first mission with the 385th. He is buried in Mount Lebanon Cemetery 78-00 Myrtle Avenue, Glendale, Queens County, New York.
