James Morley: was born in 1833, died Nov. 1905 aged 72 and was buried on 23rd November. He first lived in Great Ashfield and married Maria Shipp at St Mary’s on 25th December 1856. He was an Agricultural Labourer living in The Street. On his second marriage to Amelia Wretham on 2nd December 1862 again at St Mary’s he had become a Gardener, Coachman and Domestic servant. He was also the Parish Clerk for 30 years, living in Blacksmith’s Yard and on Thurlow Road.
