James Shipp: was born in 1800, died on 21st September 1865 aged 35 and was buried on 24th September. He was an Agricultural Labourer/Farm Labourer/Farming Bailiff, who lived in Badwell Green. He married Lucy Woolnough on 19 May 1823 and they had three children, Maria, James and Emma. Lucy must have died shortly after the birth of Emma in 1828 as he re-married Mary Ann Baker on 7th November 1833. The 1841 census shows them living in Sternfield, nr Saxmundham but by 1851, they were living in Badwell Green and in 1861, in Badwell Ash itself.
